BYU-Idaho's University Communications department was asked to create an environmental design telling the story of BYU-Idaho through the nine "enduring characteristics” of the institution.

A continuation of BYU-Idaho's Legacy Hall: Phase 1, this environmental design piece exemplifies BYU-Idaho’s “enduring characteristics”. It also pays tribute to BYU-Idaho’s athletic history with stories, quotes and photos displayed for visitors to see.

I was asked to concept how the display should look and make it feel like it belonged with the built-in display that Legacy Hall: Phase 1 was designed in. I came up with several renderings of possibilities and the one that you see to the left was chosen to be moved forward with. The image below is the rendering brought to life. 

A cool thing to mention about this project was that I was privileged to go under the Hart Auditorium to see the collection of sports trophies and awards given to the former Ricks College. The oldest trophy I found was from the 1920s!

At University Communications, we were asked to provide two way-finding maps for the Manwaring Center at BYU-Idaho to help visitors and new students find their way around the newly reconstructed building.

I took many trips down to the MC building to find all the missing nooks and crannies, and got to study airport symbols and mall maps as inspiration!

Marjorie Pay Hinckley, wife to Gordon B. Hinckley, was filled with wit and words of wisdom. Her optimism and insight inspired me to make her words come to life through a quotable poster series. 

This was such a fun and challenging project! I was asked to make a set of 50 cards of anything I wanted to. I chose constellation thinking that there was at least 50 of those. Turns out there are 88! So I turned the 50-cards project into the 88-cards project.

The 50 cards were also intended to be rectangular according to the project directions, but I made a case that if you were looking at constellations through a telescope it would be circular. The idea was approved and I got to move forward. This turned out to be the most challenging decision. Circular die-cutting machines that work properly seemed to be in short supply in Rexburg, Idaho. Ultimately, after some tears and research, I found a circle cutter that did the job perfectly. 

And, of course, they had to glow-in-the-dark!

Pathway is an academic program that has gathering sites all across the globe. To help manage each site, local volunteer missionaries facilitate the Pathway gatherings every week. This missionary dashboard was developed to help accommodate the needs of Pathway missionaries. It would allow them to see their class stats, grades, announcements, and other important information.
